Once upon a time, there were two 25-year-old men named Carlos and Albert. They weren’t heroes or geniuses; they were just two best friends who had known each other since childhood. They spent their days playing without a care in the world, inventing games with whatever they could find and heading home when the sky began to grow dark.

As the years went by, life became faster.
Jobs arrived, as did responsibilities and a small object that never left their hands.
A shiny, intelligent object full of promises.
Without realising it, it began to take up every minute of their lives.

One day, they realised that they were no longer bored.
They missed something that was hard to explain: being young without wanting to be young again.
They missed having more time.
It was an ordinary day... one of those that seemed like it would never end.
They met for coffee and started talking about how life was going.
They agreed on one thing: they needed a change to break the routine.

Then, almost joking, one of them said: 'What if we ditched our smartphones and bought one of those indestructible Nokias our parents used to have?' Maybe that way we’d actually get some real free time.
They laughed.
The idea was absurd... and somehow perfect.

For a moment, everything seemed simpler: fewer apps, less noise, more time.

They tried it, but reality didn’t take long to remind them:
“I can’t pay.”
“I don’t know how to get home.”
“I think this world is no longer made for this kind of phone.”

Nostalgia was beautiful, but living in 2003 wasn’t an option.

So they tried setting limits with apps that blocked other apps;
rules that promised to last forever, but broke on the third day.

Because when someone is hooked, they always find a way to fool themselves.

And it was right there, between frustration and exhaustion, that a different idea emerged.
Not one that looked back, but one that looked forward.

"What if the phone we need doesn’t exist because we haven’t created it yet?"

They didn’t want to give up technology.
They wanted to make peace with it.
They wanted to keep what was essential and leave the rest behind.
To create something that would give them back time instead of taking it away.

That’s how Balance Phone was born.

The two friends needed help to make their idea possible: a phone that respected people’s lives.

So they began building a team: engineers (Marc and Manuel) who could tame technology without being controlled by it, creatives (Júlia and Jana) who had the ability to turn ideas into images, and professionals (Carolina and Berta) who focused on listening to the people using the phone, making sure no one felt lost in the experience.

Thanks to them, what started as a dream is beginning to become Balance Phone.

Balance Phone has become a project that puts people’s lives at the center.

A project that believes silence is also a feature.

That balance is more important than speed.

Because adults deserve to feel present again.
