Personalized protection that reaches every corner of the phone

Two things guided this release: protection that reaches further than before, and a phone that feels a bit more like your own.

Safer, cleaner browsing

Until now, Balance kept searching safe by closing some doors entirely. Image search, for example, was simply off. That changes now. Balance filters what reaches your phone at the network level, so Google image search works again, safely. It also protects the pages that open inside other apps, a link in a chat, an article in your mail. With this, we also offer you the option of blocking ads and third-party trackers, across your whole phone.

Once it is activated, you may notice a small key icon in your status bar. That is the new protection doing its work. It checks only the address of a site, never the content of what you send or receive. Nothing about your browsing leaves your phone except that check. New devices set it up during onboarding; on existing devices, Balance offers it exactly when it helps, or you can turn it on anytime from Settings.

Protection that fits each profile

Balance now adjusts some app-level limits to how the phone is set up. On a self-directed setup you will notice fewer restrictions that were never meant for it, while supervised and clinical profiles keep the complete protection set, exactly as before.

Name your apps

You can now rename any app from its options menu: shorten a name that never fit, tell two identical names apart, or just call things what you call them. Review or reset your names anytime in Settings, under Renamed apps.

A cleaner way around

Navigation got simpler: a cleaner menu, better-organised settings. Everything is where it was, minus the clutter.

Search that forgives typos

App search now shrugs off small misspellings, so a slip of the finger still finds the app you meant.

As always, thank you for trusting Balance with your time and attention. We don't take it lightly.
